A Voracious Violation of Volition

Introduction

Vendetta started as a gaming clan for the game Tremulous in 2006. It then proceeded to make a sub clan named Anarchy to recruit newer and less skilled players in attempts to train them and increase skill. We then started to play Urban Terror and have a large, healthy and active memberbase between the 3 clans and 2 games. Most of the members that are a part of Vendetta are focussed in the Urban Terror division.


Vendetta V// Tremulous

DerSaidin, Vertica and Fr4ggy were the founding members and only members for several months until until Flamey applied to join V// in early 2007. Vertica accepted this application and then he and Flamey started recruiting more members to populate the memberbase. Shortly after this recruiting drive, DepthCharge, Choo, StreetSweeper and Chimera joined the clan and we flourished. A few more members ended up joining throughout the year and then with the break of (90210), their best players decided to accept the invitation to play for V//. Due to this our application status became closed. We competed in AusTourney 2007 and won without losing a single round. With the decline in attitude throughout the community, the lack of server support and our members' real life endeavours V// rarely plays in any public matches, but V// are still willing to accept scrim invitations given enough preparation and notice.

Anarchy aV. Tremulous

A great amount of discussion between senior members of V// took place about the status of the community, both in terms of attitude and skill and our desire to expand in this community fueled the start of the Anarchy division in late 2007. Its aim was to recruit players with potential, newer and less skilled players in hope to train them and hone their skill. The founding member was Harmony and then Anarchy quite rapidly proceeded to recruit our current members. Anarchy came runners up in the AusScrim 2008 tournament. Anarchy was undefeated until the grand final against UG. Leadership has changed over time, our current leaders are Adder and killbot. Anarchy is occasionally active on Tremulous and like V// are willing to scrim given enough notice. 

Vendetta V// Urban Terror

With numerous V// members being introduced to Urban Terror we decided to create the V// Urban Terror Division in January 2008. Coming in to the scene with a shaky start in terms of attitude and skill we have since vastly improved. Our first competition was the Clanwars ladder and we achieved a podium finish of 3rd. Results here. Shortly after we participated in the 2nd season of the GameArena Ladder which abruptly ended due to admin inactivity resulting in V// achieving 3rd place yet again. The CyberGamer ladder was shortlived resulting in minimal gameplay and V// in 3rd place. The Urban-Zone league expanded into involving an Asia-Pacific division which allowed us to gain international experience. We joined the competition during season 6 and season 8 has recently ended. We regularly place 3rd in our division. Urban-Zone started a TS league and V// have also just finished participating in this and finishing 3rd place, yet again. The Terror Down Under tournament run by kp10 came soon after which quickly gained reputation as being the most reputable competition for Australian clans in Urban Terror. Season 1 started in mid 2009 and resulted in a 4th place finish after a surprising result from the play-offs for 3rd place. Season 2 has just ended resulting in V// placing 4th again. The end of Season 2 coincided with a new phase of V//. The memberlist was re-evaluated and changes were made in terms of leadership. We now hope to achieve much better results in terms of skill and cooperation within the Australian Urban Terror community.
